Mamman, Yusuf Dabari is a Professor of Petroleum Geosciences in the Faculty of Physical Sciences, Geology Department, Modibbo Adama University, Yola (Former Federal University of Technology Yola). He holds a Ph.D. degree (2009) in Stratigraphy/Micropaleontology and MSc degree (1998) in Petroleum Geology/Sedimentology, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi. He was the head of, department of geology (2012-2016) and Member University Governing Council (2013-2017).
He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, Modibbo Adama University, Yola. He worked as a sabbatical staff with the NNPC, Nigeria in the Frontier Exploration Services Unit for one year. Participated in the supervision of consultancy services project on the Stratigraphic mapping of the Benue Trough as baseline studies for the purpose of petroleum exploration by NNPC, 2011.
Also, he was the team leader for the consultancy services project conducted by the Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola for NNPC on the Environmental baseline studies (EBS) and Environmental impact assessment (EIA) for Seismic survey and exploratory drilling in the Upper Benue through Northeast Nigeria. He has been visiting professor and external examiner at many universities in Nigeria.
His current research is on the Basinal studies and petroleum prospectivity of the Yola Arm of the Upper Benue Trough, N. E. Nigeria. He is a member of Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationist (NAPE) and COMEG registered. Graduated one PhD and 25 masters students, and currently supervising one PhD and 1 masters students.
